> I have noticed many posts on the "homemade" formula issue. We use a
blendarized diet with our daughter and have been since late November of
2001. Before I share it, I will tell you a couple of things about it.
First, we have had to modify the diet to decrease the caloric intake. We
did so by adding more water thus making it just go further. Secondly, I
have read alot about Flax Seed Oil. This recipe uses either Flax Seed or
Olive Oil. Olive oil is less expensive but we prefer the nutritional
benefits of Flax Seed Oil. We mail order and we have found it is cheaper to
do it that way. Thirdly, we didn't come to this idea overnight. It took
alot of research and talking with a few others around our community that use
the diet. We have also been to the dietician for this diet and she has
checked it out. Everything in it is nutritionally sound and has checked out
just fine with her. Lastly, the reason we switched to this diet was because
our daughter vomited constantly. Not a day went by that she didn't vomit,
whether it be out in public or at home! We were told that the blendarized
diet should help with the constipation and the vomiting problems that she
was having. It has tremendously. No more vomiting and less constipation.
So, I am no doctor, nurse or dietician. I'll warn you like the commercials
do..."Check with your doctor/dietician before trying this."

bought our own blender for this mix only. We don't use the blender for
anything else. Everything is thrown in the dishwasher afterwards to insure
it is completely sterilized.
