[tri-med] Re: Bathing and traveling (bed)

Claire is slowly outgrowing the tub insert we have for the kitchen sink, so
we need to start planning some sort of remodel, or better yet, an idea for a
simple insert for the tub for bathing.<<<<<<<<<<

what we did

our bathroom is as wide as the tub with the tub at one end and the sink and
counter taking up the opposite wall. We got a piece of counter material (
actually a counter without the laminate on it) and cut it to the size of our
counter then cut it in half and attached each half to the wall with piano
hinges so that when we brought it down it covered the sink made an awesome
change table at a great height. In the tub we had a bath chair

we chose not to have the high legs as Bec loved her bath and we did not
think she would like just to shower.( we did use a hand held shower to rinse
though) We got her into and out of the tub using a tracking on the ceiling
lift not this one but it gives the idea

we were able to move her from her bedroom to the tub with out having to cut
out the door frames. Bec had a hospital bed as she had been able to manage
to fall out of bed even with those toddler bed rails. I do have pictures
somewhere if anyone wants to see them email me off list as I am not always
good to check the lists and sometimes do a mass delete when it gets
overwhelming
