When Alex was diagnosed in 1988 the geneticist told us that the mosaicism
COULD happen one of two ways:
1. The cell lines started out normal and an 'accident' occurred creating the
trisomy in some cell lines leaving one normal cell line and one abnormal
cell line.
2. The cell line started out abnormal/trisomy and an 'accident' or the body
trying to correct itself created a normal cell line in addition to the
abnormal cell line.
The first scenario has always seemed more logical to me but who knows what
mysteries happen in the human body. :0)
