[tri-med] Re: Aussie Alex

((((Karen & Alex))))

the nephrologist's comments remind me (I can say it and smile now, years
later) of my calling the Hospital for Sick Children after several years had
lapsed and the secretary taking down my information and reason for visit
etc..."Trisomy 13? Oh, I'm so sorry...now, the year of her birth, and the
age of her death....no, no I mean how old was she when she passed away,"
this lady was getting quite frustrated with me because I wasn't admitting
that Becky is dead and able to produce a date!!! We went in circles while I
tried to over and over explain that Bec is alive...gssh!
This trisomy fun park would be much easier to bear if it weren't for the
some of the twits we are forced to depend on for our kids.
Okay I'll take a breath here and admit we have come a cross a FEW wonderful
people. I'll be praying that you only meet the good ones from here on in and
if the other kind I know that once they meet young Alex they will be
transformed, and that whatever is causing the trouble with Alex's kidneys
will be sorted out before too much permanent damage is done and that he
returns to a healthier state.

Please, I would love to see the article, could you send it when you get a
minute?

Catherine, mom of Becky (31 years old, Trisomy 13 Mosaic)
