[tri-med] Re: Anyone have any insight or advice???

I notice Meredith is Pt T18, and that makes a difference, so I'll leave the
parents of Pt T18's to respond to this last comment. I would just like to
say that Ian once described Tess's progress as "watching a baby grow in
slow motion".

Tess is 4.5 years old, can not get up from a full prone position, but
today, got herself into a sitting position from a horseshoe pillow, and
back again, several times. She weight bears quite well, but would fall over
without support. She loves to bob up and down to music, so her lower body
is stronger than her upper body. She has just begun to pick book puzzle
pieces up, since Frank (Grandad) modified the little "handles", by gluing
large wooden beads over them, so she can grip them. We believe that she
understands a lot more than she can express. She has a great sense of
humour. Some days she shows little interest in playing with toys herself,
but others, like today, she played on her toy piano. Julie her Mum says,
"Tess doesn't have to do anything herself, she is surrounded by adoring
people, who entertain her."

Tess is tiny for her age, she takes size 1 clothing (to fit a one year
old). She has never had a G-tube, and eats a wide variety of food, which we
pureed in the beginning, but now is mostly fork mashed. We grind up meat,
unless it is very tender. Surprisingly she enjoys mild curries, smoked
salmon, and many quite sophisticated (in flavour) foods.

You may get a different story from other parents, as like "normal"
children, "our kids" vary, from person to person.
