[tri-med] Re: Annie in CTV News

Barbara, I live in Toronto. Please email me of any future hearings as I
will try to come for support. My email is satinder@xxxxxxxxxxx

I had a niece with Trisomy 18 who lived for 3 months in 1999. Early on,
we found out a doctor had placed a DNR on her file without speaking to
my brother or his wife. We met with the head of neonatology, had the
DNR removed, and also had that doctor removed from her care. Luckily,
we found all this out before it had any impact on her life. This was at
the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa.

Dear friends,

Today was our human rights hearing in which the hospital was arguing
that the complaint should be dropped on the basis that it was made past
the deadline. (It was, but with good reason)

There were two TV Stations and a newspaper in attendance. Below is one
of the TV clips, if you are interested.
