Hi Jamie :o)
Yes...the Ambien is to help Devon with his sleep patterns...or rather with
MY lack of sleep.
> We have just started Zion on Melatonin to help him sleep at night.
We tried Melatonin as recommended by our genetics counselor. She said that
the limited studies she'd seen done with Melatonin and children with
chromosome anomolies showed improvement in about 50% of the children. Devon
is in the 50% that it did not work on :o(

See this is the thing...Devon doesn't seem to suffer from his sleep
habits...unless you count his behavioural issues which we're not sure if the
sleep patterns affect or not. It's ME that has the problem ;o) 7 years of
sleep deprivation have taken their toll and I'm simply wiped out!!! That's
the reason it took me so long to get to the point where I was willing to
even try a real drug to help him sleep...I'm to the point where I just need
to be able to have 7 or 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep at least some night
per week. As it is I try to go to bed by 9:30 and I'm up to be at work at
5:30 AM which I usually get up at like 4:45 or 5 and shower, dress and
arrive at work (3 miles away) at 5:30 or a few minutes after.
