No - my personal beliefs are that there are evils lurking in aspartamine and
other artificial sweeteners. Besides they have a similar effect to sugar on
insulin and sugar levels anyway, a fact few people realise. The only good
point about them is that they help with constipation.

Alex has no problem with sugar at this stage anyway. The only sugar
precaution he is on is a general one because of the increased risk of
diabetes later in life.

Up until the last 12 months the sugar in a juice was enough to perk him up,
even with a Shapiro's crisis. (we think it increased his BP). But with the
coke its actually the caffeine we are after not the sugar............
