Thanks Lou Ann,
If Alex were a typical kid I don't think I would hesitate. I am not against
medicating for ADD if it is truly there. I am not for medicating for
behaviour and just making a child more pliable which is where I think its
abused. I will do anything and everything that I can naturally of course -
but he is also a child who has already, by his own choice, refused any
products that are not "natural" - he simply wont even try processed foods,
chocolate, lollies (sweets) etc.

One thing that I am looking at is talking to Learning Links and see how much
it will cost to get him into a tutoring program purely for metacognitive
tutoring. Thats definitely an area of weakness that I knew about before the
testing and which the testing totally confirmed. It is possible to teach
lateral thinking and logical reasoning.

The eating side effects do bother me - but he does still have the g-tube in
place if need be. And his sleep schedule has always been excellent.

The other plus is that it may stop him developing OCD problems later which
appears to be more prevalent amongst our triers as they get older.

A rich child often sits in a poor mother's lap.
