Karen,
<<The results are consistent with major hypoxic events - but I am
fairly certain that he has had none in the last 2 years. Hand me a
gun of I have missed one!!!! If it is she thinks it will correct
itself.>>
Has Alex ever had an MRA? Not an MRI, that doesn't look at the
blood supply lines. An MRA specifically does. Remember Philina
was 19 yrs old before anyone figured out she had undersized, and
missing supply lines. And only when they went looking for it
with the MRA. She'd had an MRI at 8, to try to figure out her
2 previous noted "episodes". (I think she had at least one more at
12, but the only evidence was a dark ring around one of her eyes.
Over 7 yrs later, it's still there.)
<<Anyone have a trier on a stimulant?? (Other than caffeine or
coke - yes Fawna I am seriously thinking about sending a can of
coke to school for lunch every day - it does work and he has less
apneas when he has coke in the evening - but would Ritalin be
better physiologically??) Thoughts??>>
I'm trying hard not to laugh here...it's hopeless...ROFL
Okay, no Philina has never been on any stimulant other then Classic
Coke. She works hard everyday at school to earn one. Sometimes
they let her drink it there, and sometimes they send it home in her
back pack.
Our old beloved Ped, Dr Frye, worried that Ritalin (or anything
similar) would change her brain waves, and cause her to start having
seizures. He didn't want to push it, and neither did I. As I'm sure
you've figured out by now, I'd rather deal with a naturally hyperactive
kid, then one with all kinds of side effects from chemicals. She takes
1 children's chewable aspirin daily as a precaution for the Moya Moya,
and everything else falls in the category of dietary supplement. Thinking
back, in her entire life, other then antibiotics as needed, the only drugs
she's ever been on outside of the hospital, was that d*mn Phenobarbital, I
think I remember some digoxin for a short time before one of her heart
surgeries, a prescription iron tonic once before another surgery, and
some infant vitamins with fluoride. For such a failure to thrive, her
prescription history sure doesn't back that up.....
