Oh Michelle....  Alex is growing up!   I really believe I worried more about 
my children after they got their drivers license than I did when they were 
little.

Even today, If I hear sirens 'down the road'  (in the vicinity of where my 
children are).. I usually give them a call just to make sure everyone's o.k.

Understandable.  Tough to do...  Isn't there something written somewhere 
about 'roots to grow and wings to fly..'?  Alex may have special needs but he's 
also very typical in many ways.   Being a parent is the hardest job a person 
has.  

Tell Alex I said "Congratulations!"  I know he's one happy teenager.
