i was wondering if a CVS would pick up a mosaic abnormality like an amnio
would?

I had a cvs done with my 2nd child. My first son has partial trisomy 14q.
The cvs was done at 12 weeks. I was told to never have one done before 10
1/2 weeks due to complications with the developing circulatory system. I
believe it is as thorough as an amnio it just tests the placenta instead of
the amniotic fluid and it does look at all the chromosomes. The risks may be
slightly highter than an amnio, I was told @ 1% chance of a miscarriage. I
guess the main difference would be finding the results sooner. So, if your
question is if it will find a chromosomal abnormality like an amnio does,
the answer is yes.
