[tri-med] Re: AFOs

an AFO is an Ankle Facilitating Orthotic....basically a brace that supports the 
ankle. 



when i asked kaiya's orthotist if i could donate her old ones he said that they 
used to take them, but because of new laws and issues they weren't taking them 
anymore. the hospital where she gets her therapy takes old ones though to try 
out on kids that they are considering getting them for. kaiya is so small 
though, they thought it unlikely that they would find another kid that would 
fit into them. it would be interesting to see if there was an organization that 
takes them.
