[tri-med] ADMIN - List Happenings

Whilst I am posting volumes to update everyone........
Recently Freelists underwent an upgrade, which is creating a HUGE amount of
work for Mandy and I in admin stuff. Nothing for everyone to worry about but it
is keeping Mandy and I busy behind the scene. Every mail thats being posted is
generating about 10 false mails that have to be investigated and corrected. No
drama just time consuming and I will probably goof up somewhere and end up
unsubscribing someone who doesnt want to be unsubbed. If I do - YELL LOUD.

And I mean yell LOUD. At the moment I am wading through a LOT of junk mail. I
receive about 1000 pieces of mail a day through my email address and over 50%
of that is junk mail. And thats AFTER I have used a junk mail filter. The
problem with the spam filter is that it has been filtering out the good mail
and not just the spam. So after spending 12 months trying to work it I am about
to switch it off and just wear out the delete key. Unfortunately that means I
will probably accidentally delete things that I shouldnt - so keep trying. If
worse comes to worse trying sending me an MSN (myblueunicorn) or Yahoo
(rainbowkaz) or even ICQ (if anyone still uses that 4-723-851). Just remember
the master gets on and chats with people who send messages so if you get odd
and slow responses start thinking that you are talking with the master not me.

Freelists is the sponsor for the list mails, that is they provide the server
and the robot which processes all the list mails. We owe John and his little
group a HUGE amount. Freelists was set up to provide free lists for people
involved in the technology field - you wouldnt believe what he accepted as our
"technology" to be included :-))

We went through a few list hosts before I found John and Freelists. The answer
to a prayer at the time because I was sooooooo frustrated with Yahoo when they
locked me out of my own list!!! Overall John has provided a wonderful service
to us, very few problems and thankfully very little down time or lag.

Again - thanks to our benefactors without whom we would not be.
