[tri-med] A little about Faren and I

Hi all! I realize I have been a major list slacker.
I have been like that with email really. I just
wanted to give a little update on the ferocious one.
She loves school!!!! I can tell!!! One day recently
she cried all the way to school and as soon as she got
in her classroom she quieted down and was happy!
Little booger. I am loving it too. Since I am not
working during the time that she is in school, I can
do fun things. For instance, I can ride a bike now!!
I can take a pleasant walk, read a book, do nothing,
but with no hassles!!! It's great!! I am starting
up college again next semester. I am going to work
toward a degree in art education and eventually a
masters in art therapy. I want to work with special
needs and elderly, so afer I finish my general
education, I can fine tune a bit. I'm a bit nervous
about going back to school, but I'm starting very
slowly with only 2 classes so I can handle it. The
college is only 5 minutes away from Faren's school, so
I'm going to try to work it out to where I drop her
off at school and then go to classes, then pick her up
and come home. Wish me luck! Faren is still sticking
her fingers down her throat, but we have been putting
mittens on her hands so she can't do it. I don't like
to do that because I want her to learn to use her
hands, but the only time we can leave them off is when
we are sitting right next to her, otherwise she will
gag herself until she pukes. She doesn't seem to care
though and keeps doing it. Oh well, I'm sure it's
just a phase that I hope she grows out of soon.
Haven't really taken her anywhere in public recently,
which is good cause she would look silly to other
people with her gloves on in the summer. I guess
that's just life in the land of trisomy. Woo hoo!
This roller coaster is fast and bumpy. Bye now,

=====

Rickeeeeee!
