[tri-med] 15 month check up

Hannah has had a rough weekend. It's been rough on the whole family =
really,
not just her.

We had Hannah's 15 month check up on Friday at 11:30 am. It went ok. She
weighs 19 pounds and 11 ounces so isn't gaining but she is on the charts
now. Her height is 31 inches. She also had her shots so is now up to =
date on
those. Then Dr. Baxter said she needed to talk to be about something she
didn't really want to. I'm thinking "Oh great... We're going to have to =
find
another doctor!" Wrong. She and Dr. Fox (Hannah's "real" doctor) had =
talked
and neither of them wanted to have to have this conversation with us.
Basically she was wanting to make sure that we had thought about what we
wanted to do if Hannah has some sort of incident that she can't truly
recover from. I really wish Donn had been there. I am sure we will bring =
it
up again next time we are there but the ice is broken and it will be =
easier.
I'm still processing it.

We had therapy after that and Hannah did pretty good considering she was
tired and had just had 3 shots!=20

Our TIPS rep was at the house that afternoon. She brought a switch toy, =
a
bear that plays the drums and blows a whistle. It is activated by a big =
red
button switch (about 6 inches across)! She couldn't leave it with us =
(it's
for her classroom) but she's going to bring another one next week. TEIS =
has
started the process of getting Hannah some switch toys. They will pay =
for
what the insurance company doesn't.

Donn came home while Alice was at the house and he was running a fever. =
By
evening it was 101.7. Late in the evening he was shivering =
uncontrollably
until we got him in bed. His fever did go down but was back up, 102.7, =
the
next morning and he was miserabble. I took him to the walk in clinic run =
by
the med group we're in. They tested for strep but it was negative =
(although
they sent it off for fruther testing) and they put him on Zithromax just =
in
case. He is still miserable but not quite as bad. At least there isn't a
high fever anymore.

Hannah hasn't been acting sick but her O2 level dropped during the night
(and she had 3 episoldes) during the night. Donn put her on the O2 and =
that
brought it up a bit. We took it off her in the morning. Donn stayed home =
and
kept her home. Her O2 dropped again when she took a nap so he went to =
hook
her up again and it woke her up. Unfortunately her sats didn't come up =
so he
had to put her on it anyway. He was having to give her 2 liters to get =
her
sats to 95-97. We've been able to scale it back and she is on 1/2 liter =
and
she's running at 97. We are planning on calling her pediatrician first =
thing
to see what they think. I hope that the penicillin that the uroligist =
has
her on will be enough to help combat whatever this is.

All in all I'm ready for a vacation!
