Hi All.me again :o)
Back about a month ago, Devon started doing this really weird/funny looking
thing with his mouth. He would kind of purse his lips and then move his
puckered lips over to the side and then kind of gnaw on the inside of his
cheek.for lack of a better way of describing it??? It looks REALLY funny!!!
At first we thought he'd put something in his mouth that didn't belong but
after several finger sweeps (both Joe and I doing them).we couldn't find
anything in his mouth. But he kept doing that same movement. Well.it made me
crazy and I finally just wouldn't quit with the mouth exam until I found
what it was.I KNEW it was a tooth but I'll be dipped if I could find the
darn thing!!!! FINALLY after about what seemed like the umpteenth time, I
found a tooth sticking out/growing outward on the upper right gum line. It
wasn't coming out right because the molar it was replacing wasn't quite out
yet. It must have been driving him as crazy as it was us!! I wiggled it a
few seconds and was able to just pop that baby out like a chicklet :o) I
made a big fuss over him and he was grinning with these lovely pink/red
tinged slobber shoestrings hanging out the corners of his mouth :o) The good
news is that the tooth coming in sticking out the wrong direction is now
pointing downward as it should be :o)
I'm assuming this is a 12 year molar???
The thing is.he's STILL doing the funny mouth movement and I STILL can't
find anything :o( How many 12 year molars are there??
Molars DO hurt coming in don't they??? Some evenings after he's fallen
asleep on the couch, he'll wake up just totally crazed.out of control.
Crying, kicking, screaming.you name it he's doing it. Sometimes it's just
gas.but now I wonder if his gums aren't hurting/throbbing???? He did it
tonight.but of course he DID have lentil soup for dinner.and he DID have
some gas. I hope it's not his gums :O( I don't remember what to do for sore
gums????
