Well thats the reason we went to the Bi-PAP. C-PAP just didnt cover the
biggest problem which was the central apneas. Of course it took a lot of
fighting and a trip to the US to get it......... Personally I would not go
with C-PAP again for any child and go straight to the Bi-PAP. More expensive
yes, but far more comfortable and safer. OK maybe you would have to go with
C-PAP for a newborn as they breathe too gently for Bi-PAP.

These days however I choose to take the least intrusive and safest route for
Alex and thats to monitor and only use Bi-PAP and Oxygen as necessary. Both
can be dangerous if overused and Alex doesnt really enjoy them so I choose
to make the decisions when and as they are needed. It makes my life harder
and prevents me getting a lot of help I would otherwise be entitled to - but
its best for Alex so thats what we do.

The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved.
