[tri-med] Re: 02 stats dropping---

My little Becky has always had this problem Barb..she destats signifigantly
even with a cpap, though it helps somewhat. Bec s apnea is mostly
POSITIONAL.......Bec also could not maintain her body temp and this was
reason (along with the breathing) that I carried her upright on my chest for
the better part of the first two years. .......have they tried the
cpap.....i don't know what becs sugar levels were it was at this point that
I was sent home with the nothing else we can do line ringing in my
ears.......what is the functioning of her diaphragm.......I also wonder
about subtle obstruction elsewhere.....
is she shunting because of her heart defect.......sorry lots more
questions.......but lots of prayer coming your way.....

Subject: urgent: O2 stats/ sugar levels

Please, we need your help regarding uncovering clues as to why our 5
day old trisomy 13 is having difficulty. O2 stats are dropping slowly
and having trouble with low sugar levels. She doesnt respond to
increases in sugar (IV and increase in feeding) but does respond to
blow by oxygen to increase saturation. Doctors cant see a reason for
her heart to respond in this way. Lung X-Ray looks a little bit
"funny". In anybody's experience does this trisomy condition affect
these things? We would greatly appreciate any experience you could
share.
