Barb,
Matthew's O2 sat levels have always been around 96% in upper extremities and
head (around 86 for lower extremities) This has been "norm" for him and
hasn't changed since birth. O2 blow by has always increased his O2 sat
levels, but the cardiologist has been quite happy with the 96% especially
since it involves supply to the brain. When going through surgery and
sickness, it is not uncommon for this level to go down. After the last
surgery, we brought blow by O2 home but no longer need it. I think decreased
O2 sat levels are common for our babies with heart defects. Hope this helps
some. Give Little Annie a hug from me, okay?
Hang in there!
