[tri-family] Need expert advice!

Remember the wallpaper stripping question. Well I have one for the expert
who gave the answer, can't remember who it was, but please help with this
one if you can.

Ian finally moved into his place last Friday, and it is looking very nice.
He has a problem with tinting film that has been put onto all the windows
on the inside. It is many years old, and is bubbling and looks unsightly.
Any suggestions how we remove it. We tried a razor scraper, but it leaves
the glue behind, and is impossible to remove, even with the razor, where it
is sticking fast, without scratching the glass. I don't know whether you
use this film in other countries, but it is used here to cut down on heat
and glare.

As I mentioned earlier, the house looks nice, he has a new kitchen and
tiled floors in kitchen, dining, and hallways. He has new carpets and his
choice of colours works really well. The only thing, is his bathrooms. When
he was stripping off cracked tiles, he found old inactive termite damage
had eaten a great deal of the wall studs in both bathrooms and laundry,
necessitating him removing the damaged timber and re-building the whole
thing, and of course re-sheeting, and tiling. So it has turned out to be a
much more expensive renovation than he first thought.

So the prospect of having to re-glaze the windows, fills him with dread. So
if you can come up with a solution to removing the film, we'd be very pleased.
