LOL it can be - but really we have had a very mild summer this year. Penny
and Megan in sunny Brisbane (Where its sunny one day and scorching the next)
would probably not agree with me :-))
Maybe its old age - but I remember it being a LOT hotter during summer than
it is now. All those things in that joke were true when I was young (and yes
I did try and fry an egg on the pavement :-) - works better on asphalt than
concrete). I can actually remember one Christmas Eve when it was so hot and
still that you literally couldn't breathe - it hurt to take a breath the air
was so hot..........
But in the peak of summer you cant walk on the sand at the beach - its too
hot, the roads do melt (Alex can not walk barefeet on asphalt in summer - he
has a reaction to the latex in the asphalt, but only in summer). We still
have the hottest part of summer to come (February) and Alex will be at
school and I bet you a quid they havent installed his airconditioning or
gotten the first aid/emergency room ready over the summer break...... and I
am still waiting for the quote for the a/c here :-((((

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a
song.
