Yeah, I wish. My oven quit working last storm
series, along with the newer phone line, my Pagoo
message service, and both computer dial out services.
Phone line and all computer stuff are back now, but
the oven insists this time it's out for the count.
(Happened on one of the earlier massive storm fronts
too, but that time it came back after just a day or
two of dry out time.) So, if it can't be cooked on
the stove top, a microwave, or the bbq, it just 'don't'
get cooked around here right now!

Took Miss P out shopping after school, and ended up with
lots of new pants with elastic waists for independence,
and big pockets for her treasures. Threw in a couple of
new trendy t-shirts, and called it a good days effort.

Pulled it together with Nan & Ali, and we did meet
up at Pepperoni's for pizza last night. Very nice
visit! Philina & Ali get along well, at least in
small doses. Mind you she was way too excited to eat
more than a few bites, and didn't even drink her soda
(but it WAS Pepsi after all). We even took some pizza
home for "the man", who had decided to appeared sometime
during our absence.

Must tell this last part of the story that even Nan hasn't
heard....

Ali had given Philina a "Happy Birthday" Mylar balloon.
And when we got home last night, Doug opened up the patio
door off the dining room for us, so we didn't have to wander
clear around to the back of the house to get in. Therefore
Philina's balloon, in true Miss P fashion, ended up left in
the walkway in the dining room. Now I'd bought a box of white
wine earlier, and left it sitting on the drain board in the
kitchen. And for starters, at least one of the cats must have
decided it looked like a good scratching post. So, I found it
leaking out on the drain board when I went in to heat up Doug's
pizza. But I managed to salvage at least most of the box into
a clean Sun tea dispenser, and a glass that I had intended to
drink. Left the glass of wine on the drain board while I was
putting the rest in the fridge. Turned back around just in time
to witness one of the kittens flying down the drain board with
the Mylar balloon string in it's mouth. String hit the glass,
glass went flying, and I was drenched in white wine. One more
totally unforgettable birthday!!!
