Campus Watch: Middle East McCarthyism?
http://arenson.racknine.net/2002_09_28_tokyoprog_archive.html#85501429
From: Jewish Peace News
http://www.jewishvoiceforpeace.org/
A pro-Israeli Government think tank plans to start an Internet site,"
according to a September 18 article in The Wall Street Journal, "to
monitor the attitudes of American professors and universities toward
Islamic fundamentalism and the Arab-Israeli conflict." ("Pro-Israel Web
Site To Monitor Views Of US Academia")
Anti American? by Arundhati Roy
http://arenson.racknine.net/2002_09_28_tokyoprog_archive.html#85501931
Recently, those who have criticised the actions of the US government
(myself included) have been called "anti-American". Anti-Americanism is
in the process of being consecrated into an ideology. The term is
usually used by the American establishment to discredit and, not
falsely - but shall we say inaccurately - define its critics. Once
someone is branded anti-American, the chances are that he or she will
be judged before they're heard and the argument will be lost in the
welter of bruised national pride.
Bush and Hitler? John Pilger (Introduction by Paul Arenson)
GANGSTER DIPLOMACY, BUSH STYLE
http://arenson.racknine.net/2002_09_28_tokyoprog_archive.html#85501463
A week ago a German politician made a comment about George Bush being
very much like Hitler in his method of taking attention away from one
thing by focusing on another. While all the world's corporate
controlled media went into a frenzy about this supposed no-no, I
wondered what the big deal was about. We are so used to personifying
evil by identifying it with people like Hitler. In fact, it was Time
magazine which altered a picture of Saddam Hussein for one of its covers
to make him look more like Hitler. But this poetic, er political,
license did not draw much criticism. When it suits us, we can pretend
that evil is what other country's leaders do, but no-- never our own....
The reality is that it doesn't matter much what evil lurks in the minds
of people like Bush, because crimes worthy of being labelled
Hitleresque were committed by the U.S. government long before the
Republicans stole the election. It is systemic.
We should also worry about a quick and easy war (Dennis Fox)
http://arenson.racknine.net/blog.html#85532507
Even non-pacifists who think Saddam Hussein is every bit as evil as the
president says have good reason to try to block this war..........
.......The only tyrants left will be the ones who do our bidding, just
like the politicians now echoing Bush's war cries.......That's not the
sound of Freedom ringing. It's the sound of Empire, growing.

Lies and More Damned Lies
The International Atomic Energy Agency -- which is one of the agencies
charged with carrying out inspections in Iraq -- says that a report
cited by President Bush as evidence that Iraq in 1998 was "six months
away" from developing a nuclear weapon does not exist. Mark Gwozdecky,
the IAEA's chief spokesman told the Washington Times, "There's never
been a report like that issued from this agency." Oops!.....
Many more.....
More Facts About U.S. Lies on Iraq
http://arenson.racknine.net/blog.html#85514508
As should be obvious, the anti-war movement is not supporting the
goivernment of Iraq. We have nothing good to say about it. On the other
hand, the U.S., which supported Saddam Hussein when it was conveninet
to do so, is telling lies now in order to get the world ready for war.
So here is some more truth in case you were wondering what is what.
Including U.S. Rep. James Abourezk, others.
