These items came in JUST as we were sending out.
As it is important for people to get out and demonstrate
if possible, I thought I would break my rule and
put this out now rather than wait until next week.
The demonstration is TOMORROW (in Tokyo, if you are
in the neighborhood).
Thanks for your understanding

embassy tomorrow, Thursday, April 4, at 12 noon.
We will be wearing black gags and T-shirts and banners with messages,
stating OCCUPATION KILLS, WITHDRAW NOW etc.
Please bring your own or help us carry ours, we will be having some
extra gags for people who show up on the spot.
Please find the press release below and spread the word. Thanks for
your time and energy,

In response to the continued and intensified horrifying events
Peace Boat continues Protest at Israeli Embassy
SILENT APPEAL!
Immediate withdrawal of Israel from the occupied areas
and an immediate halt to all military activities
From 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 4, 2002 Peace Boat will organise a
demonstration in front of the Israeli embassy in Tokyo to protest the
continued attacks on Palestinians and to demand the immediate withdrawal
of the Israeli Army from Palestinian areas and an end to the occupation
A silent and very visual protest will be held to oppose the
unprecedented level of violence against Palestinian people, representing
their vulnerability by wearing mouth gags and carrying written messages
Appeals for peace will be delivered to the Israeli Ambassador and the
participants will sit down in front of the embassy
On top of the already committed violations of international law, as
condemned by the international community on March 29th, the Israeli
army started another military operation. Up till now they have
continuously taken Palestinians out of their houses, surrounding them
with tanks and guns, shutting of the water and food supplies and even
attacking the people involved in the rescue activities. We, as members
of international civil society we cannot remain silent in this
situation, we will present a silent appeal to demand that Israeli
troops withdraw from the occupied territories, comply with UN security
council issued on March 30, and a real peace and independence for
Palestine.
We demand the following of the Israeli Government:
1. A withdrawal by the Israeli army from the occupied territories of
the West Bank (including Ramallah) and the Gaza Strip as stated in
United Nations Security Council Resolution 1402, issued on March 30.
2. An immediate stop of the inhumane treatment of Arafat, the elected
leader of Palestine. And an end to the Israeli policy to expel Arafat.
3. Halt to the military operations and policies which violate
fundamental human rights and dignity of Palestinians. Immediate
establishment of international Human Rights observers.
4. Stop the attacks on the vehicles engaged in humanitarian aid
including food and medical supplies.
5. Stop the attacks targeted on those who are carrying out non-violent
peace activism.

Bicycle for Everyone's Earth (We will have a radio interview
with Tucker, author of this message, soon!)
Hi Everybody,
I hope most of you are already familiar with Bicycle for Everyone's Earth
(BEE). BEE runs an annual bicycle ride from Hokkaido to Kyushu (and this
year Okinawa) to raise awareness of environmental issues. During the ride,
the riders participate in local environmental events, visit schools, and
hold environmental forums and press conferences. This year's ride will be
the biggest and best ever with seven riders from four countries. We hope
to hold over 50 events along the way.
BEE desperately needs your help to make this ride a success. We are
looking for:
1. One or more native Japanese speakers to help with the preparation and
translation of materials into Japanese. (We would be happy to trade this
for English proofreading if a Japanese environmental organization would
like to set up an exchange!)
2. People to help organize events along the BEE route. We can work with
people in any part of Japan.
3. People willing to host the BEE Team for a night when they pass through
your town.
4. And of course, RIDERS! People who would be interested in actually
riding either all or a part of the BEE Ride.
If you are interested in participating in this important event, please
email tucker@xxxxxxxxx or call me at (0765) 65-2232.
(THIS IS IN JAPAN!)

Here is an interesting ad for anti-military rap and hip hop:
AWOL-Revolutionary Artists Workshop Volume 1 is a magazine and cd
project showcasing political hip hop music, spoken word, graffiti art
and poetry focusing on the issues of war and militarism and its deadly impact on
today's youth.
At a time when all the talking heads on the tube, and it seems like
everyone is waving the star, strangled banner, AWOL says "chickens come
home to roost".
At a time when more high schools are beseiged by military recruiters and
Junior ROTC programs, and funding for the arts, more books and computers
is being cut, AWOL speaks the truth in the face of military greed.
At a time when Spike Lee does Navy commercials, and The Source and Vibe
Magazines run recruiting advertising, AWOL says don't let the "sellouts"
sell out!
At a time when most rappers are rapping about jewels, champagne and
bentleys, AWOL spits the ugly reality that cuts the strings on these
industry puppets.
You heard it from us first, if you don't wanna play war, go AWOL!
AWOL Magazine and CD features 19 tracks of new music by- Dead Prez,
Luminous Flux, Agua, C-Rayz Walz, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Solstice
with Tungz, Maspyke, Ricanstruction, Black Surreal, Welfare Poets,
