that the former Ambassador to Lebanon was fired by Japan's Foreign
Ministry for criticizing Koizumi's pro-war policy. The fired ambassador
will be speaking on October 19.

The term Conscientious Objector is not that familiar in Japan, where there 
is (as of yet!) no conscription, but surely there are cases of people
imprisoned or at least targeted by the police for opposing militarism.
The War resisters League is looking for documentation on people around
the world who are being held in jail because they non-violently oppose
war and militarism. Please read the story and help them, if at all
possible.
