A court recently declared that the Pledge of Allegiance is
unconstitutinal.  Here in Japan, the Ministry of Education has
been pushing patriotism, with penalties for teachers who fail
to go along with the flag and anthem ceremony. These two articles
should be of interest to people here in Japan who feel
uncomfortable with the idea of forcing patriotism on kids.
