Executive director of the Global Policy Forum, which monitors policy-making
at the United Nations, Paul is author of a series of papers including "Iraq:
The Struggle for Oil." He said today: "This resolution takes a hard-line
approach that will almost certainly lead to war. Thirteen members of the
Security Council were opposed to this resolution or deeply skeptical, but
Washington used intense pressure and eventually bent them to its will."

Veteran's Day by Howard Zinn
It's  been war after war for the United States: Korea, Vietnam, Grenada,
Panama, Iraq, Yugoslavia. All accompanied by claims that we were at war for
some good cause, all resulting in the loss of human life, all demanding
acceptance of the government's reasons for war, most of which turned out to
be lies. We should have learned from Vietnam that true patriotism does not
mean marching off to war just because the government tells you to. Those
58,000 names on the Washington memorial should make that clear.
