Cecelia,

I agree we should get together and do this again soon.  Perhaps at some
other kind of venue, such as the naturalist's rally at Mount Rogers or
Roan.  As for the great tiger, it appears that they probably don't really
start flying until midnight or later so the best strategy for finding them
might be to get to the park office as soon as they open in the morning and
hope to find one hanging around the building.  The flight period is pretty
narrow so they probably will only be around another couple of weeks at most.
