Ken, all the 9057 moths on MPG and Bug Guide have a distinct white patch in the 
thorax area.  I would guess yours is 9056.  Here is my 9057.  Even from a 
lateral view, you can see the white at the back of the tuft.

  This one may be too worn to tell but it looks like either 9056 Homophoberia 
cristata, Waterlily Owlet or 9057 Homophoberia apicosa, Black Wedge-spot. I 
have the larval food plants for each species in this area so that doesn't help.
