Last night while checking my moth sheet, a sphinx showed up and did what moths usually do when they first arrive at the sheet.....it wouldn't hold still long enough for a good photo. It was also leaving the sheet and spent much of its time crashing into me. I was thinking about capturing it when I finally got a poor shot that would have been good enough for an ID. A few seconds later it left the sheet and started crashing into me again. The crazy thing then flew into the tiny gap between my right hand and the camera and got stuck! Since it obviously wanted to be captured, I put it in the fridge for awhile and then took some better shots. It turned out to be a Virginia Creeper Sphinx.
