We enjoyed nice weather for the Elizabethton count. Butterfly numbers and diversity were beginning to rebound after what seemed like a big slump in the early summer. We still missed a number of species, especially at the higher elevations on Holston Mtn. where the milkweed was already played out. A single Harvester was a nice find at Sycamore Shoals. The butterfly garden there is marvelous. If you get the chance, go see it. Next year's count is scheduled for the first Sunday in August, 05 AUG 2012.
