9/29/09 Ocola Skipper (no photo) seen feeding on Mistweed. The white asters are in full bloom so there are fewer 'flies near the house feeding on the Lantana. Checkered-Skippers should be here very soon. Other species seen today: Orange Sulphur - big increase in numbers today. Cloudless Sulphur Little Yellow Sleepy Orange Gray Hairstreak Red-banded Hairstreak - many more than I've seen in the past. Eastern Tailed-Blue American Snout Variegated Fritillary Pearl Crescent Question Mark American Lady Painted Lady - first one I've seen in a long time. Common Buckeye Red-spotted Purple Viceroy Monarch Silver-spotted Skipper Dun Skipper - all old and worn. Clouded Skipper Least Skipper Fiery Skipper Sachem - all old and worn.
