Dale Swant called in a report from an outdoorsman friend of his who sighted 2 adult Whooping Cranes, north of Manchester, Tn ( Coffee Co.) off of I-24, seven miles down Ragsdale Rd. This was Saturday, 26Mar11, and he had documented with pictures. I still have PURPLE FINCHES, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, JUNCOS, WHITE-THROATS and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER coming into feeders. Resident PINE WARBLER is feeding more often. A look at Bedford Lake, Saturday, turned up about 100+ TREE SWALLOWS, 17 BUFFLEHEADS, 5 RING-NECKED DUCKS----earlier in month, there were 100+ BUFFLEHEADS and a couple of RUDDY DUCKS. The LOUISIANA WATER-THRUSH is in down at Cumberland Springs. I can't do those 12 hour birding days anymore, but still enjoy hearing on-line from all of your sightings.--have the hummingbird feeder up and am putting my leaf mister up this week.
