New yardbirds for the year on Saturday (19 April 2003) included
1, possibly 2, Yellow-throated Vireo and a Broad-winged Hawk. Lots
of Chipping Sparrows still around. Heard one singing male Scarlet
Tanager and saw at least 3 females.
The Barred Owls have been going crazy this week calling at all hours,
even during daylight.
Added the first herp to the yard list, a "Midwest" Worm Snake
(Carphophis amoenus helenae).
