[TN-Bird] Re: swainson's warbler dearth this year?

Steve,

In contrast, I had more Swainson's locally this spring than I have ever had.
I only got over into traditional Swainson's habitat once, but I had
Swainson's singing in three locations on Walnut Log at Reelfoot on 4/27,
this is my high count for that area. Locally, my high count this spring was
three singing birds as well in Henry Co. I haven't been able to get back and
check any of these locations, but I suspect most of the birds I get in Henry
Co. to be local nesters, as we of course at about the northern edge of their
range. I had Swainson's all three times this spring that I visited the areas
I often get them.

Interestingly, none of the spots I get Swainson's in Henry Co. are in
canebrake areas. They are in wet upland type areas.

Good Birding!!
