I did a good bit of research a couple of years ago after being ch= ided by
Mr. Sargent for my recommendations on sugar solutions, and found th= at not
every hummer "expert" is in agreement with Mr. Sargent, an= d if you look to
the natural world for guidance, many flower= species have thirty percent
concentrations. Jewelweed, on the hummer's ver= y favorites, is as high as
forty one percent. I reali= ze that Mr. Sargent has the hummingbird's best
interests at heart, and a li= fetime of experience, but I thought that the
remarks concerning whether or = not the overwintering hummer's life was
being"saved" were pointless, and l= eft me puzzled as to what inspired them.
Is there some reason to = make these folks feel superfluous or diminish
theirjoy in this bird? = Maybe I just don't get it...highly possible...=
