Just a quick update about upcoming bird-related events in the Upper
Cumberland Region.
Fall Bird Counts will be conducted September 16 in Putnam County and
September 23 in White County; contact me if interested in the Putnam
FBC; contact Doug Downs (douglas_downs@xxxxxxxxxxx) if interested in the
White County FBC.
A Fall BirdBlitz (like a Fall Bird Count but not expected to be repeated
in most future years) will be conducted September 30 in Macon County;
contact me if interested in this count.
Looking way ahead, there will be a Foray in White County May 25-28,
2007; this four-day event will attempt to document all breeding birds in
White County; results of this Foray will be compared to results of the
Foray held in White County May 28-31, 1982, a quarter century earlier.
Anyone who took part in the first Foray in White County is especially
welcome to return to the scene of this event and repeat it. Contact me
or Doug Downs if interested in taking part in the White County Foray.
Good bird counting, Steve Stedman
