[tn-bird] Re: signs of spring (??)

No such new signs at Tremont lately!!!

After a number of springtime flowers and bird songs etc last week, we
were hit with our second winter this week.  Temps have been about 12
degrees F each morning.

After an inch of snow on Tuesday night, our feeders were crazy
wednesday.  Up to 75 Juncos, 30 Goldfinches, and one or more: 
Robins, White-throated Sparrows, Blue Jays, white-breasted
Nuthatches, Carolina Chickadees (Tried unsuccesfully to find a
Black-capped) Tufted Titmice, and even a Pine Warbler.

Unfortunately the Pine Siskins that the last snow brought us did not
return this week.

Today, for the 3rd day in a row, we have 2 beautiful male Purple
Finches.  But no females.
