[TN-Bird] rusty blackbird on Foothills Parkway

Hi folks,

While Tracey Everson and I were walking our dogs on the closed
section of Foothills Parkway (north of US 321 in Blount County) we
heard, then saw, a flock of about 20 black birds flying SSW. One of
them announced itself to be a RUSTY BLACKBIRD. With neither
binoculars, nor Ole Coot, I couldn't tell what any of the others
were, as they were quite high in the sky. None of them seemed to
have a long enough tail to be grackle, so I'm guessing they were all
Rusties, or maybe a mix with Redwings.

I'm very jealous that a Yellow-throated Warbler was in Sewanee 4-5
days ago for Jerry, but none have bothered to sing for ME yet! The
earliest first sighting for them in Walker Valley (records go back 10
years) is March 26, so they should be in soon. My windows are
open...

The earliest Black-and-white Warbler report here is March 18, with
the average first report being April 8, so any day for those, as
well.
Charlie
