Purple martins must like to roost in urban areas while migrating , because
I see thousands of them each year in downtown Jackson (Madison County).
They especially like the area just south of the courthouse, down a block or
so around the Carl Perkins Civic Center. They cover trees, lines, light
poles, and stay for several days. Wonder if the same birds stay for several
days or do they continue south, replaced by more on the move?
