November 26, 2003 Blount Co. The possible BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD posted 11/24/03 seen in Maryville on Sunday 11/23/03 was seen again this morning for less than one minute at 7:48 am. It appeared to be an immature male with a large spot in the lower portion of the throat. The tail didn't extend much beyond the wings; primary shape was not convincingly noted, but was broader than what I picture in a Ruby-throat. It sat on the feeder and was not seen hovering nor pumping its tail.
