There is an osprey nest on the railroad bridge that crosses the Holston River
where it joins the French Broad to form the Tennessee River in east Knoxville.
This is the first year that I have noticed a nest there. We see ospreys moving
up and down the Holston River occasionally, but not regularly. We are just
over a mile by crow flight from the bridge.
On a different subject, I have posted some photos from Saturday's banding
session at Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge MAPS station. Unfortunately I didn't
have my camera handy when the Wilson's warbler and willow flycatchers were
brought in.
