[TN-Bird] more about county birding

I certainly echo David Trently's comments about the importance of
knowing the species found within the various counties of Tennessee and
of birding in such a way as to increase overall knowledge about them.
 
Besides knowing what species occur in each county, it is also beneficial
to know their status.  My wife Barbara and I have been conducting bird
surveys in our home county, Putnam, at five-year intervals since 1991 in
order to better understand the status of the county's birds.  We just
completed the fourth such winter survey (and we will undertake the
fourth summer survey in late May and June 2006).  If you're interested
