Stopped by the pond at the corner of Morrell Road & Deane Hill Drive in west
Knoxville this morning to see Mark Campen's four Hooded Mergansers. They
were still there and had been joined by six more. So, 10 in all. They all
appeared to be Females... at least no breeding plumaged adult Males.
After leaving there I stopped by the pond off Baum Drive at the Pellissippi
Outpatient place between Deane Hill Drive & Northshore Drive. In addition
to the usual Canada Geese, Mallards and assortment of odd puddle ducks &
geese that live there I found a Pied-Billed Grebe.
Carole Gobert, Knoxville, Knox County, Tenn.
