After hearing concerns about Great Horned Owls being affected by West
Nile virus, and having missed hearing them on the hill behind my house this
year in late November/ early December as I have heard them in past years, I
was greatly relieved early this evening to hear the lovely sounds of a male
and a female Great Horned Owl trading calls. I don't know what this means in
the big picture, but I'm counting my blessings.
