[TN-Bird] help with Hairy Woodpecker w/broken wing

Please excuse my previous e-mail - I am on an unfamiliar computer and not on my
own e-mail account.

I found a female Hairy Woodpecker with a broken wing in my front yard this
morning. There are no apparent wounds on the bird, no blood or any other signs
of physical trauma other than the wing. With the help of my husband, the
internet and an out-of-town veterinarian friend we gently secured her wing, and
the bird has been stabilized. She doesn't exhibit any signs of stress and
seems to be resting comfortably. She drank some of the water we gave her, but
we haven't seen her eat any of the raw peanuts (broken into smaller pieces),
suet (with sunflower seeds) or mashed banana (advice from the vet). Can anyone
give me any other expert advice on the caring for this bird until Walden's
Puddle opens Tuesday morning?
