KTOS announces the following field trip: * * *Saturday, June 5, **9-11:30 a.m.*** Walker Springs Park, Knox Co. Leader: Robin Barrow (865-297-2572, braveladyrobin@xxxxxxxxx) The focus of this trip is a nest of Red-shouldered Hawks, located by Carole Gobert. The nestlings are easily viewed from the paved trail. We will also walk out toward Bridgewater Rd (0.6 miles on paved, flat trail) looking for other woodland birds like Red-headed Vireos, Wood Thrushes, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers. Directions: From I-40, drive north on Gallaher View Rd. Turn left onto the *second* turn for Walker Springs Rd (the first Walker Springs is at the stoplight?you?ll know you?re on the wrong road if you run into the interstate again). Travel ¼ mile and turn left onto Kidder Ln at Walker Springs Apartments. Park at the end of the road. The park has bathrooms and a playground, so feel free to bring your kids.
