[TN-Bird] eventful night


Nightly log: Dean Edwards
west Knox Co., TN
29-30 April 2004

Approximately 9:30 PM:  Yellow-billed Cuckoo calling, unknown owl 
species squealling

Approximately 11:00 PM:  Barred Owl calling

4:30 AM:  Awoken by loud, incessant barking of Bassetthound who had
cornered an opossum in the fence.  Bassett brought inside.  Possum
sent on his way.  Neighbors grateful.

Approximately 6:30 AM:  Awoke from dream about Barred Owls to hear
Barred Owl calling outside window.

7:30 AM:  Drug self out of bed.  Stopped to look out window on way
to shower.  Heard squeeky wheel in woods.  Took couple of minutes for
head to clear sufficiently to associate squeeky wheel with song of
Blackpoll Warbler.
