Cocke Co, TN
20 years ago we had plenty of bob whites. This area of Cocke County remains a
mix of farm fields, pastures, woods and hedgerows, with very little change.
Yet now there are very few. The only difference is a plethora of coyotes, and
also "wild" domestic dogs (abandoned strays). There are more deer, coon and
turkey hunters than small game bird hunters here, so I don't believe hunting
pressure has had much impact.

TWRA has stated that people are welcome to raise and release bob whites, but in
their research, these birds do not fare well, and consequently, do not
significantly increase the local population.
